What started as a social media dare has now developed into a monthly 6-digit revenue-churning opportunity for Jayanthi Manivannan. “It was just supposed to be a dare,” Jay reminisces about how Jay’s Cookies was started back in 2019. What was supposed to be just a social media post about her cookies went viral, resulting in thousands of orders flooding in. Jay seized her opportunities and now supplies cookies, cakes, and a range of pastries for birthdays, festivities, and corporate events! Never one to back down from a challenge, Jay promises that she’ll be opening two outlets before 2023 is done.

Managing large orders was a huge challenge

“The initial problem we faced was consolidating orders from different platforms, especially when receiving hundreds of orders per hour.”. Jay’s Cookies started with Instagram and Facebook webpages, getting most of their orders from WhatsApp, Telegram, and Instagram. Currently, they are accepting orders from their eCommerce website and a couple of sales platforms, such as Shopify and Cococart, having expanded from the initial social media launch.

Usually, they are having a birthday celebration or a big corporate event.
